I Love My East Wenatchee Backyard!
One of my happy places in this world is as close as out my back door. I love my backyard. It is nothing overly special. In fact, there is a good chance your backyard is nicer than mine, but my backyard offers me a place of serenity.
In the summertime I love spending evenings eating dinners out back. Playing yard games and relaxing with a beverage. I love to wake up in the morning on weekends with a cup of coffee, lay back in a lawn chair and read a book as the sun sheds light on the green grass. I will set my book down and stare out at my lawn, trees and the blue sky while I sip my coffee.
In the spring the leaves come to life and my trees bloom beautiful flowers. It makes me so happy to know the season is offically changing, warmer weather is on the way and longer lighter days. My backyard lets me know spring has sprung!
In the fall those same trees that look beautiful with flowers in the spring turn the most beautiful reds, yellows and oranges. The leaves are stunning but bring a sadness of shorter days and colder weather. My time in my backyard is running out. I need to enjoy every last drop while I can.
In the wintertime it makes me sad that I don't get to spend time enjoying my backyard, but the snow makes the trees and all of it look beautiful, nonetheless. As the winter finishes up and the snow melts away, I feel my excitement creep up knowing that soon I will be spending hours in my backyard enjoying the peace and quiet.
I know it is so simple, but sometimes the purest joy in life is simple and easy. The dog running and playing. The kid bouncing on the trampoline. The smell of food grilling and the sounds of laughter and conversation of good friends, family and loved ones in your happy space.
