Nothing is official. The NFL and Apple Music haven’t named a 2027 halftime performer, and Super Bowl LXI is set for February 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Still, one name keeps rising. Miley Cyrus has been the favorite on prediction markets, and NFL insider Dov Kleiman has pointed to those odds.

That’s reason one. Reason two is geography. Cyrus calls Los Angeles her adopted hometown, and the game lands on Valentine’s Day, which suits a singer whose biggest recent hit is a self-love anthem.

A Comeback in Full Swing

Reason three is momentum. Cyrus has two Hollywood Bowl shows coming up, and more than 1.5 million fans registered for the presale. She has called the dates a “dress rehearsal” for a possible residency, and fans can’t help wondering what else she might be rehearsing for.

Then there’s the tease. Fans say Apple Music, the halftime show’s sponsor, briefly posted a silhouette of a woman in a bedazzled, corset-style top, then deleted it. Nobody has confirmed who it was, and it could easily be a coincidence.

What Miley Has Said

Reason four comes from Cyrus herself, and it isn’t a flat yes. She has said the Super Bowl feels like “too much pressure.” She also said she would consider it if the show could celebrate the different eras of her career. Fans have taken that as an opening.

She isn’t a stranger to the weekend, either. In 2021, she headlined the TikTok Tailgate before Super Bowl LV in Tampa, performing for health care workers invited to the stadium.

Not everyone is sold. Some fans say they’d rather see someone else, and other names, including Justin Bieber, have been floated. For Wenatchee Valley fans who grew up on “Party in the USA,” there’s no harm in daydreaming until the official announcement, which typically comes in the fall.
