The Rock Island fire Friday burned about 75 acres while Sunday afternoon's fire in the No. 2 Canyon consumed 60 acres.

Late this afternoon, a three-alarm brushfire was reported on No 2 Canyon Road. The fire necessitated traffic closures and air support.

Wenatchee Valley Fire Department swiftly responds to brushfire at Milepost 12 near Rock Island Dam, containing the 50-75 acre fire along SR 28.

The fire grew quickly after igniting late Monday night on just a few acres during high winds.

The Wenatchee Valley Fire Department was initially called to the scene of the fire which has grown from several acres to almost 700 acres.

The Wenatchee Valley Fire Department deals with 3-6 large scale wildfires every summer according to Chief Brian Brett.

Right now, there’s are Level 2 evacuations in place along Batterman Road and 4th Street SE.

The Wenatchee Valley Fire Department sent a fire engine two rescue teams to the the Spanish Castle area just before 4:30pm.

Spanish-speaking officers and child car seat technicians will also be on hand to offer training for proper installation and use of child car seats.

Crews arrived at the house in the 300 block of Fuller Street just before 9:30 am to find a fire burning in the kitchen and attic area.
