Don’t Wear These 4 Colors in Washington to Avoid Those Itchy Mosquito Bites
Ugh, those pesky mosquitoes! They're always out to bite you! I wish they would get a life and leave us alone!
DID YOU KNOW: Mosquitoes can kill up to 1 million people per year! (University of Washington)
Mosquitoes, of course, thrive on our human blood, leaving us with the most painful, itchy, disgusting red bumps on our lovely skin!
It doesn't matter how much melanin you have; those bugs are coming for you!
There is fortunately, a little preventative measure that we can take to avoid getting bitten. It's not fool-proof, but the mosquito researchers at University of Washington says that if we avoid wearing certain color clothing, the Culicidae might look elsewhere for our unsolicited plasma donations.
HOW TO AVOID MOSQUITO BITES
Besides wearing insect repellent and sealing off all your doors and windows to avoid coming into contact with those little jokers or moving to a state that has the fewest number of mosquitoes as possible (Wyoming, Vermont, Colorado, Idaho, and Alaska, to name a few), you can try not to wear these four colors to avoid mosquito bites.
You can also swat at them. They don't like that.
FUN FACT: The only mosquitoes that bite you are the female ones!
